Dasha Shenkman
International
Chair
Dasha
is a Canadian, resident in London, with experience in the fields of publishing,
visual arts, theatre and music. She was a literary agent for many years
and, in 1992, co-founded Atrium, a book shop in Cork Street, London, specialising
in international art reference books. She has been involved with a number
of arts-oriented organisations, either at board level or as a consultant.
She and her brother established the Belle Shenkman Music Programme, in
memory of their mother -- a series of weekly concerts at the National
Gallery performed by students from the Royal College of Music -- and also
initiated a similar programme at the V & A Museum. Dasha is a trustee
of the Concordia Foundation, a music charity whose mission is to "build
bridges through music and the arts", and is a member of the Tate
International Council.
